Order Your Own Blood Work
Most people come to us after the long way around: call a clinic, wait weeks for a slot, then get sent somewhere else for the actual draw. You can skip all of that. Tell us what you want run and we run it.
If you already have an order from your provider, bring it and we will follow it exactly. If you are not sure what to ask for, call first and talk it through with us before you come in.
The Usual Suspects
Routine Blood Panels We Run
These are the tests people ask for most. A CMP and a CBC together give a broad picture of how your body is doing. A lipid panel covers cholesterol. Hemoglobin A1C shows your average blood sugar over about three months.
You can pick one test or several. If a doctor asked you to come in for something specific, bring the paperwork and we will match it.
Same-Visit Answers
Rapid & Infectious Disease Testing
Feeling sick and want to know what it is? We run COVID-19 testing as both a rapid test and a PCR, plus Strep A, Flu A&B and RSV. If your stomach has been the problem, we also test for H-Pylori by breath or by blood.
HIV testing and pregnancy testing are both available too, by blood or urine. Come in during our hours and ask for what you need.

Home Draws
Some people cannot get to the lab. Maybe you are recovering from something, maybe you are caring for someone who cannot travel, maybe the drive is just too much right now. We can come to you instead.
Call us to ask about setting up a Home Draw and we will walk you through how it works and what we need from you beforehand.

Insurance & Self-Pay
We accept most insurances. Every plan covers testing a little differently though, and what applies to one test may not apply to the next, so the honest answer is that we cannot tell you what your plan will do until we look at it.
Call us with your insurance information and the tests you are after, and we will help you check your coverage before you come in. Prefer to skip insurance? Ask about self-pay and we will go over your options.

Common Questions About Blood Work
Do I need a doctor's order for blood work in Pharr?
No. You can walk into Surepointe Lab and order your own blood work. No doctor's order and no referral are needed. If you do have an order from your provider, bring it with you and we will run exactly what it asks for.
Do I need to fast before my blood work?
It depends on the test. A lipid panel and some glucose tests usually ask you to fast first, while a CBC generally does not. Call us with the tests you want and we will tell you whether to eat beforehand. Coming in early in the day makes fasting easier.
How long do blood work results take?
Turnaround depends on which test you ordered. Rapid tests like COVID-19 and Strep A come back during your visit, while panels sent for full processing take longer. We will tell you what to expect for your specific test before you leave.
Do you take my insurance, or can I pay myself?
We accept most insurances, and we also have a self-pay option if you would rather not use your plan. Coverage differs by plan and by test, so call us with your insurance information and we will help you check what applies before you come in.
Can someone draw my blood at home?
Yes. We offer Home Draws for patients who cannot make it to the lab in Pharr. Call us to ask about setting one up and we will walk you through how it works.
Which blood tests should I ask for?
A CMP and a CBC together are the usual starting point for a general check. If you are watching cholesterol, add a lipid panel; for blood sugar, ask about Hemoglobin A1C. Call and tell us what is going on and we will help you decide before your visit.
How much does blood work cost?
It depends which tests you need and whether you are using insurance or paying yourself. Call us with the tests you are after and we will give you the pricing before you commit to anything.
